The ministry also runs an orphanage in the city of Pereira. “Many of these children have been orphaned because their parents were murdered by the drug cartels, sometimes right in front of their own eyes,” Carol says. The orphanage boasts a farm where the children can grow vegetables and tend the cows that provide fresh milk.
